CHICAGO—An off-duty Chicago police officer was shot and killed early Saturday as she headed dwelling on town’s Southside after her shift.
The officer was shot about 1:42 a.m. within the metropolis’s Avalon Park neighborhood, police mentioned.

Family members recognized the slain officer to the Chicago Solar-Instances as Areanah Preston, 24.
